Cernyw and Morna Kline Collection of African Material Culture
Between 1967 and 1969 Cernyw Kline, a doctoral student in agricultural engineering, participated in a USAID project that involved conducting research in Ethiopia, Sudan, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Nigeria, Ghana, Cote d'Ivoire, Senegal, and Gambia. With his wife Morna, he collected a number of pieces including a significant collection of Christian art made in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. They donated the collection to the MSU Museum in 1972.
