This collection consists of materials collected primarily by the students of Dr. Loudell Snow, professor of Anthropology, who taught American Folk Medicine at Michigan State University for about 10 years, beginning in 1978. Snow began the folk medicine collection in 1982. The examples of cures, remedies, and forms of alternative medicine collected by students enrolled in her classes are mainly from Michigan but also include some national and international examples.
