Richard Reuss Collection of College Songs
he late folkorist Dr. Richard Reuss is primarily remembered for his work on the folk music-revival movement and labor history (workers and unions). He taught at Wayne State University, The University of Michigan, and Indiana University. The Richard Reuss Folklore Collection contains 4.5 linear feet of research notes, his master's thesis prospectus, research collections on which his thesis was based, and papers of students he taught. Topics covered by the collection include folk music revival, college folklife, labor history, politics, narratives, and folksong. Originally the collection was housed at the Wayne State University Folklore Archive. It was transferred to Michigan State University Museum in 2001.
